McKeever posts three points, Riley records second shutout

Newburgh, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College Women's Soccer team ran its winning streak to four games and remained unbeaten at home on the season with a 4-0 non-conference win over John Jay on Thursday. Senior Bridget McKeever (Wallkill, N.Y.) finished with three points, while classmate Mary Riley (Newburgh, N.Y.) posted her second shutout of the season.

Allison Jones (Merrick, N.Y.) scored the eventual game winning goal in the 19th minute on Thursday when she floated a ball under the bar from 40 yards out at 18:05. Although it was the lone marker of the opening 45 minutes, the Knights held a 14-1 advantage in shots prior to halftime.

Mount Saint Mary pulled away from the Bloodhounds with three second half goals. Maeve O'Sullivan (Garden City Park, N.Y.) scored her first of two goals at the 52:52 mark before McKeever scored her team leading 11th goal just under six minutes later. O'Sullivan closed out the scoring in the 69th minute with her second of the game.

O'Sullivan became the seventh player with at least three goals on the season with her scoring output on Thursday, while McKeever scored a goal and added an assist to move her team lead in points to 29. Senior Destiny Ribadeneyra (Maybrook, N.Y.) picked up two assists to match the team-high in helpers with seven, with Claire Newman (Cromwell, Conn.) helping on her third goal of the year.
