Newburgh, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College Women's Basketball looks to get back into the win column on Saturday afternoon when it heads to league rival Farmingdale State. Live Stats and Video are available for those who cannot attend the 1:00 p.m. tip-off.
At A Glance: Mount Saint Mary fell to 16-5 overall and 12-3 in conference play on Tuesday following a 65-44 road loss at Old Westbury. The Knights shot a season-low 30.8-percent from the floor and were outscored in the paint 38-18. The Knights turned the ball over a season-high 35 times against the Panthers, surrendering 31 points off of miscues.
Jordyn Hellpap (Hackensack, N.J.) was the lone Knights to score in double-figures, netting 10 points to go along with a pair of steals.
Janae Graham (Orange, Conn.) added eight points, while
Jessica Rini (Seaford, N.Y.) secured a team-high eight rebounds.
Through 21 games, Rini leads the team in scoring with 11.6 points per game, while
Kayla Cleare (West Hempstead, N.Y.) is averaging a near double-double with 10.2 points per game and 9.9 boards per outing.
Hellpap has connected on a team-high 31 three-point field goals to go along with 29 steals.
Bridget Kelly (Farmington, Conn.) leads the team in thefts with 32 and is coming off the bench to average 6.9 points and 4.8 rebounds while shooting 56-percent from the floor.
Entering the weekend, Mount Saint Mary leads the conference in scoring defense (47.0), ranks second in scoring margin (14.8), field goal percentage (40.1) and field goal percentage defense (29.9) and ranks third in rebounding margin (13.1).
A Look At Farmingdale State: The Rams have won five of their last seven contests and enter Saturday's tilt at 12-9 overall and 10-5 in conference play. Farmingdale State topped Sage 67-59 on Wednesday in a game it turned the Gators over 26 times leading to 28 points.
Essence Casey poured in 21 points on the strength of a 15-for-19 effort from the free-throw line and was one of four players to reach double-figures in the game. Casey, Liz Durchhalter and Tyra Harrison all swiped five steals, with Durchhalter posting 11 points and five assists.
Harrison leads three players in double-figures for the Rams, netting 14.3 points per game to go along with 2.5 steals and 3.0 assists per outing. A.J. Smith leads the team with 7.0 rebounds to go along with 13.7 points, while Casey is good for just over 10 points and six rebounds per contest.
The Rams are scoring 65.2 points per game as a team, good for fourth in the conference and also sit fourth in the league rankings in field goal percentage defense (33.7).
Last Meeting: The Knights scored a 51-41 win at the Kaplan Center on January 7 in a game it allowed the Rams to shoot just 26.9-percent overall. The Knights did not have a player reach double-figures in the game, but featured nine different scorers led by eight points from
Megan Kerutis (Merrimack, N.H.).
