Newburgh, N.Y. – Following the Thanksgiving Break, the Mount Saint Mary College Women's Basketball team opens Skyline Conference play with a pair of games. The Knights play host to St. Joseph's-L.I. on Tuesday evening at 6:00 p.m., before traveling to Purchase on Thursday for a 6:00 p.m. tip-off with the Panthers.
At A Glance: After winning its season opening against Bard, the Mount has dropped its last three contests, including a 52-43 road loss at Vassar on November 21. The Knights did not have a player reach double-figures in scoring in the game and shot 31-percent for the game overall.
Heading into Tuesday's conference opener, the Knights are shooting 38-percent from the floor as a team and 18.5-percent from three-point range. The Mount is outrebounding its opponents by nearly six caroms per contest and is handing out 10.5 assists per outing.
Junior
Kayla Cleare (West Hempstead, N.Y.) is the lone player averaging double-figures in scoring, checking in with 10.8 points per game through four contests. Cleare is shooting 53.1-percent from the floor for the Mount and paces the team with just over seven rebounds per night.
Elizabeth Limonta (Stewart Manor, N.Y.) is converting at 68.8-percent from the floor over the first four games of the year, scoring 7.0 points per game to go along with nearly five rebounds per outing. Senior
Jessica Rini (Seaford, N.Y.) is good for 5.3 rebounds per game and is chipping in with 8.5 points per outing.
Freshman
Katie Smith (Goshen, N.Y.) has handed out a team-high 10 assists through four contests, with Rini leading the team with six steals and Cleare holding the team lead in blocks with six.

Scouting St. Joseph's: The Golden Eagles will come to town sporting an even 2-2 record and are coming off a tight 79-78 win over the City College of New York on Wednesday. Andrea Iavarone starred for St. Joseph's with 19 points and 16 rebounds, while Lindsey McKenna added 17 caroms and seven points.
The Golden Eagles feature three players scoring in double-figures in the early going of the season, led by 19.5 points per night from Iavarone. Jennifer Gubell is good for 14.8 points per contest, while N'Dea Maddox is posting 13.0 points per game.
Iavarone is shooting 51-percent from the floor for the Golden Eagles and is averaging a double-double with 18.5 rebounds per game. Maddox is putting together a strong start to the season with 4.0 assists per game, while Juliana Mellor is swiping 3.3 steals per game.
Iavarone enters the week fourth in the Skyline Conference in scoring and leads the league in rebounding average by over four boards per game.
History: Since the start of the 1995-96 season, the two teams have met 38 times with the Knights holding a commanding 36-2 advantage in the series. The only two wins for the Golden Eagles during that stretch came during the 2014-15 season, with the Mount rebounding to win the last four meetings.
Previewing Purchase: The Panthers head to the United States Merchant Marine Academy on Tuesday with a 2-1 record, but are coming off a 129-63 road loss at Western Connecticut on November 21. Western Connecticut made 17 of its 61 three-point attempts in the win and saw Jancy Sherwood pour in 36 points after going 13-for-26 from the floor, including 6-for-16 from three-point range.
Purchase, who shot nearly 44-percent for the game, featured three players in double-figures, led by 19 points and six rebounds from Amber Jones.
Jones begins the week leading the conference in scoring at 26.0 points per game and is shooting an efficient 62.1-percent from the floor to go along with a team-high 4.7 steals per night. Alfa DeJesus paces the team in rebounding with just over seven per contest, while Kayla Ortiz leads the team with 4.3 assists per game.
History: Since the start of the 2007-08 season, Mount Saint Mary and Purchase have met 21 times with the Knights holding a 19-2 record. The Mount's last loss came on February 21, 2014 at the Kaplan Center, but has won the last six meetings by an average of 23.8 points.
What's Next: The Knights are off during the first weekend of December before returning to action at home against Yeshiva on December 5.
