Newburgh, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College Women's Basketball team plays its third straight contest away from home on Tuesday when it travels across the Hudson River to take on local foe Vassar Tuesday evening. Tip-off with the Brewers in Poughkeepsie is set for 6:00 p.m. with Live Stats and Video available for those who cannot attend the contest.
At A Glance: After losing consecutive games just once during the 2016-17 season, the Mount is coming off of back-to-back losses heading into Tuesday's road game at Vassar, standing at 1-2 overall on the season. The Knights dropped both of their games at the Emerson Tip-Off Classic over the weekend, falling to Ave Maria 73-61 and Middlebury 59-34.
Through three games this season, junior
Kayla Cleare (West Hempstead, N.Y.) is leading the Mount in scoring and rebounding, putting up 11.3 points and 7.0 rebounds per contest. She has added five blocked shots and is shooting an efficient 60.9-percent from the floor in 23 field goal attempts.

Jessica Rini (Seaford, N.Y.) is good for nearly nine points and 5.0 rebounds per game through three contests, while freshman
Katie Smith (Goshen, N.Y.) has reached double-figures in scoring in each of the last two games and is posting 8.0 points and a team best 3.0 assists per game.
Heading into Tuesday's contest, the Mount is shooting 40.4-percent from the floor overall, but is struggling from three-point range, converting at just a 19.0-percent (8-for-42) clip. The Knights are outrebounding their opponents by better than nine caroms per contest and are good for nearly three blocks and just over seven steals per outing.
Last Time Out: The Mount closed play at Emerson with a 59-34 loss to Middlebury in which it shot 24.4-percent from the floor and 8.3-percent from three-point range. The Panthers broke the game open after outscoring the Knights 26-8 in the third quarter and finished the game knocking in eight triples and outscoring the Mount 27-8 in points off of turnovers.
Smith matched her career-high with 10 points in the game, adding three assists and five rebounds, while Cleare chipped in with eight points. Smith, Cleare and Rini were the only Knights to convert more than one field goal in the game, with
Jordyn Hellpap (Hackensack, N.J.) knocking down the team's lone three-pointer.
A Look At Vassar: The Brewers enter Tuesday's tilt at 2-1 overall and are coming off a 75-59 loss to Oneonta in the championship game of the Vassar Tip-Off Tournament on Saturday. The Brewers were held to 36.4-percent shooting in the loss, with Ariella Rosenthal leading the way with 18 points.
Through three contests, Rosenthal leads the scoring attack with 11.3 points per game with Julia Roellke good for just over six rebounds per contest and Kim Romanoff handing out three helpers per outing.
Vassar is shooting 40.5-percent from the field overall and is making five three-point field goals per night. The Brewers are even in rebounding margin through three games, are handing out nearly 15 assists per game and are swiping almost 10 steals per contest.
History: The two teams have met 20 times since the start of the 1993-94 season with the Knights winning 15 of those matchups. The Mount won five straight game from 1994-1998 and stopped a two game skid against the Brewers with a 67-53 home win on November 22, 2016.
