Women’s Volleyball Cruises Past Maritime

Kralik puts away career-high 11 kills

Throggs Neck, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College Women's Volleyball team picked up its second straight conference win on Tuesday night with an impressive 25-10, 25-14, 25-17 road win at Maritime. Freshman Danielle Kralik (Bedford Hills, N.Y.) led the offensive attack with a career-high 11 kills.
 
Mount Saint Mary allowed only nine kills to Maritime who finished the match hitting -.044. The Knights put away 37 kills in the winning effort, including 29 over the final two sets. The Mount hit .278 in the third frame and finished the Knights hitting at a .190 clip.
 
Six different Knights finished the match with at least two kills in the match, led by 11 from Kralik who hit .292 on the night. She also added a team-high four service aces in the match to go along with two digs. Sophomore Morgan Burke (Ringwood, N.J.) chipped in with nine winners on the night, hitting .444 for the Mount.
 
Nicole Spinelli (Wantagh, N.Y.) continued her steady season with six kills for Mount Saint Mary, going without an error in 11 swings. Ally Klesin (Glendale, N.Y.) finished off the evening with four kills for the Mount, with Megan Williams (Glenmont, N.Y.) posting three winners and lifting six digs.
 
Junior Kim Gries (Hicksville, N.Y.) handed out a match-high 28 assists for the Knights with Julimar Figueroa (Dorado, Puerto Ricl) lifting 12 digs and adding two aces. Jackie Survilla (West Islip, N.Y.) added eight digs and a pair of aces in the win.
 
Maritime received a team-high four kills from Meredith Hayes with Abby Solomos lifting a match-high 15 digs.
 
Overall, Mount Saint Mary held the advantage in kills 37-9, service aces 15-1 and total team blocks 4-1.
 
Tuesday's win improves Mount Saint Mary to 8-16 overall on the season and to 2-3 in Skyline Conference play. Next up is a non-conference home match against SUNY Delhi on Thursday. Match time with the Broncos is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
