Newburgh, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College Men's Soccer team will play its first road game of the season this evening when it travels to non-conference foe Bard. Kick-off with the Raptors is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. with Live Stats and Video available for those who cannot attend the game.

At A Glance: Mount Saint Mary enters this evening's contest at 1-1-0 overall after posting a 7-1 win over the Culinary Institute of America in the season opener and suffering a 2-0 loss to Vassar on Sunday.

In the season opener, the Knights featured seven different goal scorers, including
Joey Dolan (New Paltz N.Y.),
Matt Fuge (Avon, Conn.) and
Bereket Watts (Southold, N.Y.) who all finished the game with a goal and an assist. Freshman
Kenan Kizar (Manalapan, N.J.) scored his first career goal, the game winning tally, for the Knights in the first half. Senior
Mike Zanfardino (Saint James, N.Y.) assisted on a pair of goals in the win.

In the loss to Vassar, Mount Saint Mary was outshot 14-3 overall and 5-2 in shots on goal. Dolan, Fuge and
Joe Bacalhau (Woodbridge, N.J.) all registered an attempt in the game, while senior goalkeeper
Tyler Biscone (Garden City, N.Y.) finished with a pair of stops.

A Look At The Raptors: Bard will also be playing its third game of the season and holds a 1-0-1 overall record. The Raptors topped Cobleskill 2-0 in their season opener and played SUNY Canton to a 2-2 draw in their last outing on Saturday. Nick Shenberger and Mark Mannara picked up the goals in the victory over the Fighting Tigers, before Antonio Scanni and Lucas Bourgine tallied against the Roos.

Through two contests, Bard is led by three points from Scanni and has gotten nine saves in goal from Taylor Bond. In 200 minutes, Bond holds a 0.90 goals against average and a .818 save percentage.

Recent History: Since the start of the 2007 season, Mount Saint Mary and Bard have met nine times heading into tonight's contest, with the Knights boasting a 6-2-1 record over that stretch. The Knights are currently on a five game unbeaten streak against Bard and have not fallen to the Raptors since a 2-0 loss in 2010.

In last year's meeting, the Knights and Raptors played to a 1-1 draw in Newburgh. The Knights scored in the 26
th minute with
Matthew Minniter (Mahopac, N.Y.) picking up an assist, before Bard equalized in the 70
th minute on a Shenberger tally. Both keepers made four saves in the tilt, with the Mount holding a 14-11 advantage in shots.

What's Next: After tussling with Bard this evening, the Mount will head north to play a pair of games at the Potsdam College Cup. The Knights will tangle with the hosts on Saturday afternoon and take on either RIT or King's (Pa.) to conclude the event. Upon their return home, the Knights will open a season-long three game home stand against Rutgers-Newark on September 14.
