Newburgh, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College Baseball team picked up a key Skyline Conference doubleheader win on Saturday afternoon, downing co-league frontrunner Maritime by scores of 5-3 and 7-3. Sophomore
Blake Keenan (Fishkill, N.Y.) ripped two triples in game one, while
Jimmy Papineau (Pleasant Valley, N.Y.) drove home four runs in the game two win.

After jumping in front 1-0 in the second when
Vincenzo Pepe (Middletown, N.Y.) delivered Keenan, the Knights fell behind 3-1 following single runs from the Privateers in the third, fourth and sixth innings.

Trailing by two runs, the Knights exploded for four runs in the sixth to move in front of Maritime for good in the game.
Matt Cahill (Ronkonkoma, N.Y.) delivered
Albert Estwick Jr. (East Elmhurst, N.Y.) with a single for the inning's first run and Keenan pushed home the eventual game winning run with his second triple of the game. Keenan later crossed with an insurance run on a Maritime miscue to close out the scoring in the game.

Keenan finished the opener 2-for-3 with two runs and a pair of RBI, finishing with the only Knights with multiple hits, runs and RBI in the contest. Cahill,
Kristopher Fragomeni (Beacon, N.Y.) and Estwick all finished with a hit and run scored.

Junior
Kevin Duffy (Wallingford, Conn.) picked up his fourth win of the season in game one, allowing three runs on seven hits in 6.0 innings. He struck out four and walked only one in moving to 4-3.

Three Mount Saint Mary relievers worked scoreless innings, with
David Hobbs (East Rockaway, N.Y.) fanning one in a scoreless seventh,
Ryan Turton (Westbury, N.Y.) fanning the side in a scoreless eighth and
Sean Betterly (East Meadow, N.Y.) striking out two in on his way to his second save of the season.

In game two, the Mount was held scoreless in its first two at-bats, but scored at least one run in its final four turns. Papineau and Cahill drove in runs with base hits and Fragomeni delivered
Jasper Bradley (Hampton Bays, N.Y.) with a sacrifice fly in a three run fifth and Papineau chased home two more runs with a single in the sixth for the Knights.

Papineau closed game two 3-for-4 out of the leadoff spot with a run and four driven in with
Ryan Hayes (Robbinsville, N.Y.) going 2-for-2 with two runs scored. Fragomeni drove in two runs for the Knights and finished with a double.

Senior
Chris Wolfe (Beacon, N.Y.) worked first complete game of the season and moved to 2-3 on the season in game two. He allowed two earned runs on five hits and fanned three for the Knights in the victory.

Saturday's split pushes Mount Saint Mary to 13-19 overall on the season and to 7-4 in conference play. The Knights will close out the home schedule on Sunday when they play host to Farmingdale State. First pitch with the Rams is scheduled for 12:00 p.m.
