Newburgh, N.Y. –Destiny Ribadeneyra (Maybrook, N.Y.) scored twice in the first half as the Mount Saint Mary College Women's Soccer team picked up its fourth straight win on Tuesday with a 2-0 blanking of Purchase. By virtue of the conference's tie breaking policy, the Knights have earned the second seed in the upcoming Conference Championship.

The Mount put pressure on the visitors from the outset on Tuesday and finally broke through in the 32
nd minute when Ribadeneyra potted her fourth goal of the season. She deposited a passing play that started on the right wing with
Maeve O'Sullivan (Garden City Park, N.Y.) before
Nicole Cavallo (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.) found her in the box for a 1-0 lead.

The Knights' lead grew to two goals six minutes later when Ribadeneyra found the back of the net for the second time in the game and the fifth time in 2016.
Bridget McKeever (Wallkill, N.Y.) collected a turnover and found Ribadeneyra at the top of the box and she finished at 37:59 to close out the scoring in the game.

Mount Saint Mary went to the intermission with a 15-1 advantage in shots and a 3-1 edge in corner kicks. Purchase keeper, Rachel Mizrahi, kept the Panthers close with six first half saves on Tuesday night.

The Knights kept the pressure on the entire second half and outshot the Panthers 10-0 on their way to a 25-1 advantage for the game and a 15-0 edge in shots on goal. Ten different Knights recorded a shot in the game with O'Sullivan and Ribadeneyra leading the way with six each. McKeever closed the game with four shots for the Knights.

With her scoring output on Tuesday, Ribadeneyra became the eighth different Knight with at least four goals on the season. She moved into a tie for third on the team in goals with five and moved to within four points of the team lead in points with 20. McKeever's helper gives her a point in seven of the last eight games and pushes her team lead in points to 24.

Junior
Mary Riley (Newburgh, N.Y.) picked up the shutout without having to make a save in the game. The blanking is the second of the season for Riley and gives her 22 in her career, one shy of tying the career record at the Mount. Mizrahi finished the game with 13 saves for Purchase.

Tuesday win pushes Mount Saint Mary to 8-8 overall on the season and to 7-2 in conference play. The Knights will be off until Wednesday when they take on the winner of the Purchase and Mount Saint Vincent Opening Round game to be played on Saturday. Kick-off at Kaplan Field on Wednesday is set for 3:00 p.m.
