PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College men's soccer team dropped the championship game of the Best Western-Ground Round Cardinal Classic to its host, Plattsburgh State University, by a score of 7-1 Sunday afternoon. The Knights fall to 1-4-1 on the season with the loss, while the Cardinals stay perfect at 6-0.
For their efforts over the weekend, sophomore forward
Eric Hayes (Westhampton Beach, N.Y.) and senior forward
Michael Ennis (Carmel, N.Y.) were each named to the Cardinal Classic All-Tournament Team. Hayes tallied the game-winning goal for the Knights in Saturday's 2-0 victory over Nazareth College, while Ennis picked up a goal in Sunday's loss.
Nicholas Laurent and Alexis Archilla led the way for the Cardinals with two first-half goals apiece. Chris Bowden, Terrence Spence and Jon Cabeca also tallied goals for Plattsburgh State. Juan Giraldo and Josh Barriere helped out with one assist apiece.

Michael Blaauboer (Latham, N.Y.) dished out an assist on the score.
Senior goalkeeper
Austin Peluso (Farmington, Conn.) shouldered the loss after yielding six goals in the first half. His overall record drops to 1-4-1. Mitchell Jordon picked up the win for the Cardinals, but allowed a goal without making a save in one half of play.
The Knights stay on the road this week, as they head into New Jersey for a matchup against Rutgers-Newark. The game is set to kick off at 5 p.m.
