NEWBURGH, N.Y. – Junior forward
Michael Ennis (Carmel, N.Y.) proved he was still a thorn in the side of Farmingdale State College (2-6, 0-1 Skyline) as he brought back memories of the 2013 Skyline Conference Championship final, scoring the overtime winner to lead the Mount Saint Mary College men's soccer team (4-2-1, 1-0-0 Skyline) to a 3-2 victory over the Rams Saturday afternoon at Kaplan Field.
Ennis dribbled the ball into the box by himself and met one-on-one with the keeper in front of the net. He fired one past the Rams' goalie and into the back of the net to earn the Knights the victory at the 95:52 mark. Ennis scored the game-winning goal with 57 seconds remaining in the 2013 Skyline final against Farmingdale State to earn the Knights their first-ever Skyline Championship.
Farmingdale State's J.T. Famularo initiated the scoring in Saturday's matchup with a header off a free kick in the 7th minute, putting the Rams up, 1-0. The Knights answered at the 13:58 mark when senior forward

Chris Marchese (Cold Spring, N.Y.) into the back of the net. Sophomore midfielder
Matt Minniter (Mahopac, N.Y.) made the most impressive play of the day at 27:07, taking a cross from graduate student midfielder
Sean Lockwood (Manahawkin, N.J.) off his chest, volleying the ball, and then firing home past the keeper to put the Knights up by a goal.
The Knights took a 2-1 lead into halftime, but it did not last, as Samuele Riva scored off a throw in from Anthony Leonick in the 62nd minute to knot the game up at two apiece. The game remained tied into the first overtime period, when Ennis scored the golden goal in the 96th minute to kick off a 1-0 start for the Knights in Skyline play.
Junior goalkeeper
Austin Peluso (Farmington, Conn.) picked up the win for the Knights, stopping two shots and allowing two goals. Robert Tucker suffered the loss for the Rams after allowing three scores and making three saves.
The Knights were the clear possession leaders in Saturday's win, and they fired off 16 shots compared to just six for the visitors. They also earned seven corner kicks to just two for the Rams.
The Knights continue Skyline play on Saturday, Sept. 27, when they host SUNY College at Old Westbury at Kaplan Field. The game is set to begin at 2 p.m.
