Women’s Soccer Crushes Sarah Lawrence on Senior Day, 11-0

NEWBURGH, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College women's soccer team (7-3, 3-0 Skyline) put on a show as they honored their seniors on Senior Day, dominating Skyline Conference newcomer Sarah Lawrence College (2-6, 0-2 Skyline) to the tune of an 11-0 decision Saturday afternoon at Kaplan Field.

Knight seniors Michelle Sabogal (Forest Hills, N.Y.), Marissa Segreto (West Islip, N.Y.), Renee Schultz (Waldwick, N.J.), Jordyn Catapano (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.), Nicole Gianotti (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) and Vanessa DiSilvio (Massapequa, N.Y.) were all honored prior to Saturday's game for their contributions to the Mount Saint Mary College women's soccer program across their tenures in Knight Blue.

Segreto, Schultz, Gianotti and freshman forward Dava Fortunato (Scarsdale, N.Y.) each tallied a pair of goals in Saturday's win. Segreto and Schultz each added an assist to complete a five-point game. Catapano got in on the action and scored her first of the season, while freshmen Allison Jones (Merrick, N.Y.) and Nicole Cavallo (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.) both got on the board as well with a goal apiece. Sabogal, Jones, freshman Jessica Lanning (Hicksville, N.Y.) and freshman Destiny Ribadeneyra (Maybrook, N.Y.) all added assists.

Freshman goalkeeper Mary Riley (Newburgh, N.Y.) did not face a shot, but still picked up the victory in 65:47 between the pipes. DiSilvio took over midway through the second half, but also did not see any action. Sarah Lawrence's Addie Rosenberg made 11 saves in Saturday's matchup, but allowed 11 goals to suffer the loss.

The Knights did not allow a single shot on the afternoon, taking a 31-0 edge in total shots. They also had nine corner kicks and did not allow Sarah Lawrence to have any.

The Knights get back to work quickly, as they host Rutgers-Newark Monday evening at Kaplan Field. The game is set to kick off at 7 p.m.
