NEWBURGH, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College men's soccer team won its second game of the season on Tuesday evening, defeating the SUNY Cobleskill Tigers, 8-0. The Knights move to 2-0, while the Tigers fall to 0-1.

Brandon Mincher (Bayport, N.Y.) scored his first of two goals on the night in the 14th minute, finishing a cross from senior
Sean Lockwood (Manahawkin, N.J). Mount junior
Chris Marchese (Cold Spring, N.Y.) joined the action in the 24th minute as he headed home a corner kick from junior
Matt Garcia (Wappingers Falls, N.Y.), sending the Knights to a 2-0 lead.
The Knights continued to dominate offensively when Garcia struck twice, moving the Knights to a 4-0 advantage. Other goal scorers for the Knights included Lockwood, tallying his first goal of his senior season and sophomore
Adam Palumbo (Islip Terrace, N.Y.) contributing two goals to the Knights victory.
The Tigers struggled offensively, taking just three shots in comparison to the Mount's 37.
Mount senior goalkeeper
Matt Darling (Staatsburg, N.Y.) played all 90 minutes and was credited with the shutout. The Tigers goalkeeper, sophomore Tucker Lewis (Greenville, N.Y.), made seven saves in the loss.
The Knights return to action on Friday, September 6 when they travel to Fredonia State. The game is set for 7:00 p.m.
