RIVERDALE, N.J. – The Mount Saint Mary College women's volleyball team (14-18, 5-3 Skyline) went 1-1 in a Skyline Conference tri-match at the College of Mount Saint Vincent on Sunday. The Knights dropped a tough five-set match to Mount Saint Vincent (8-17, 6-3 Skyline), 3-2 (18-25, 25-14, 18-25, 25-15, 10-15), but bounced back to sweep Purchase College (9-11, 4-4 Skyline), 3-0 (25-22, 25-14, 25-16).
In the Knights' third five-set match in 24 hours, the two teams traded sets, leading to a victory for the host Dolphins. Mount Saint Vincent's Maria Leineweber had a match-high 17 kills, while five Dolphins picked up double-digit digs. Sophomore middle blocker

Claire Scully (Bloomfield, N.J.) dished out 37 assists, while the Knights also had five players with double-digit digs. The Knights hit just .080 in the match, while the Dolphins had a .116 hitting percentage.
The Knights rebounded with a vengeance in their second match of the day, hitting .342 against Purchase in a 3-0 victory. Kurka led the Knights with 10 more kills and hit at an impressive .643 clip. Scully added another 19 assists in the quick win.
The Knights next play on Saturday, Nov. 2, when they participate in a non-conference tri-match at Ramapo College. They'll take on Fairleigh Dickinson-College at Florham at 1 p.m. before taking on the host Roadrunners at 3 p.m.
