PATCHOGUE, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College men's soccer team (8-3-1, 4-1-1 Skyline) suffered a crushing defeat, falling to Skyline Conference opponent St. Joseph's College (L.I.) (2-10-2, 2-2-1 Skyline), 3-2, after a Golden Eagle goal in the final three minutes of play on Saturday.
St. Joseph's Enrique Tirado scored off a feed from Fabio Alves at the 87:36 mark to give the Golden Eagles the win on Saturday. The Knights have now dropped eight-straight regular season matchups to St. Joseph's.
The Knights jumped out to an early lead in Saturday's contest, when senior midfielder
Sean Lockwood (Manahawkin, N.J.) beat Golden Eagle keeper Avery Gomez at the 1:17 mark to take a 1-0 lead. That did not last long, as Chris Hall tied the game for St. Joe's at the 4:59 mark.

Darling made five saves in Saturday's contest, but allowed three goals to shoulder the loss. Gomez stopped four shots en route to his second win of the season.
Shots were even on the day, as each team fired off 11. The Golden Eagles held a slight edge in corner kicks, earning four to the Knights' three.
The Knights look to bounce back in their next matchup, which takes place in Farmingdale, N.Y. The Mount will take on Farmingdale State College on Friday, Oct. 18, in a Skyline Conference matchup. The game is set to kick off at 4 p.m.
