Halverson Breaks Assist Record as Knights Sweep Day Two of Hawk Invite

NEW PALTZ, N.Y. - Senior Lauren Halverson (Patchogue, N.Y.) broke the all-time record for career assists during Saturday's play at the New Paltz Hawk Invite.  The Knights (5-6 overall) defeated Old Westbury and Alfred, both in straight sets.

Against Alfred, Halverson just missed a second straight 30-assist performance, finishing with 29.  She now has 2,086 assists for her career.  Raftery led the Knights with 12 kills, as sophomores Katie Lynch (Island Park, N.Y.) and Natalie Candarelli (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y.) added eight and seven kills, respectively.

Mount Saint Mary will carry a three-match winning streak into a home date with Manhattanville College on Wednesday, September 19.  The match is set for a 7:00 p.m. start inside the Kaplan Center.
