Box Score PURCHASE, N.Y. - The Mount Saint Mary College men's soccer team won its third straight game after posting a 2-1 win over Skyline Conference opponent, Purchase College. With the win, the Knights improve to 8-5 overall and 5-1 in conference play, while the Panthers move to 5-7-1 on the year and 3-4 in the Skyline.
The Knights jumped out to a quick lead, as freshman 
Alex Tolman (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) finished a cross from junior 
Brandon Mincher (Bayport, N.Y.) in the third minute of the game. Mount junior 
Sean Lockwood (Manahawkin, N.Y.) added the Mount's second of the day with less than 12 mintes played. Senior 
Matt Pagano (Mahopac, N.Y.) played a cross into the box and Lockwood finished it off to pt the Knights up, 2-0.
A foul in the 49th minute, led to a free kick opportunity for the Panthers. Purchase sophomore Stefan Gohler (Brooklyn, NY) sent a free kick towards the net and freshman Cesar Bautista (Port Chester, NY) headed the ball into the back of the net to make it 2-1.
Shortly after the Panthers scored, they nearly added another to tie the game. Purchase junior Andres Romero (Port Chester, NY) ricocheted a shot off the crossbar and the Knights managed to stay in the lead.
Both teams were fairly even in shots, with the Knights recording 16 and the Panthers tallying 14. Mount junior goalkeeper 
Matt Darling (Staatsburg, N.Y.) totaled eight saves in the win, while Purchase goalkeeper junior Michael Beckett (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) was also credited with eight saves.
The Knights will return to action on Thursday, October 18, as they host The Sage Colleges. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m.
