Lauren Halverson (Patchogue, N.Y.) averaged 11 assists per set over two matches as the Knights recorded their eighth and ninth straight victories. The Mount defeated Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts and Salem State, each in straight sets, to improve to 13-9 overall.
The Knights dominated MCLA, winning sets by scores of 25-15, 25-18, and 25-9. Junior
Mary Ann Raftery (Long Beach, N.Y.) posted a team-high 10 kills as Halverson dished out 31 assists. Senior
Courtney Kenney (Hicksville, N.Y.) added seven kills and five blocks.
Mount Saint Mary continued its strong play with a three-set win over Salem State (25-10, 25-21, 25-21). Raftery and senior
Teresa Sorrentino (Bellerose, N.Y.) recorded eight kills each and Halverson posted 35 assists to go along with 8 aces. Senior
Heather Schaeffer (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.) racked up a team-high 14 digs.
The Knights will put their winning streak on the line on Tuesday with a trip to William Paterson University. The match is scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. start in Wayne, New Jersey.
