RIVERDALE, N.Y. – Snapping a four-game losing streak, the Mount Saint Mary College men's soccer team defeated the College of Mount Saint Vincent on Wednesday by a final score of 7-0. The Knights improve to 5-7-1 overall (2-4-0 Skyline), while the Dolphins fall to 1-7-0 (1-5-0 Skyline).

Ryan Folken (Centereach, N.Y.) opened the scoring in the 35th minute, junior
Sean Barton (Wallkill, N.Y.) scored his first collegiate goal just 32 seconds later to give the Knights a 2-0 advantage. Sophomore
Brandon Mincher (Bayport, N.Y.) assisted on both goals. Freshman
Adam Palumbo (East Islip, N.Y.) also tallied his first career goal, putting home a feed from junior
Matt Pagano (Mahopac, N.Y.) to make the score at the half, 3-0.
Mincher tallied his third assist of the night when he set Pagano free up the middle for a goal in the 48th minute to make it 4-0. Barton added a second goal when he put home a rebound in the 68th minute and then completed the hat trick with an unassisted marker in the 79th minute. Barton also assisted on a goal by junior
Christian Redl (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) in the 78th minute.
Sophomore goalkeeper
Matt Darling (Staatburg, N.Y.) didn't need to make a save and was credited with his fifth shutout. Darling now holds the all-time school record for shutouts in a season.
The Knights will face St. Joseph's College on Saturday in Patchogue. The Golden Eagles are 5-0-0 in Skyline play this season and stand alone at the top of the conference standings. Game time is set for 1:00 p.m.
