Mount Drops Second Straight

OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College men's soccer team dropped their second consecutive Skyline Conference game, falling to SUNY College at Old Westbury by a score of 1-0 on Saturday afternoon.  The Knights are now 4-5-1 overall (2-2-0 Skyline), while the Panthers moved to 4-7-0 (3-1-0 Skyline).

Scoreless through 75 minutes, Old Westbury finally broke through with the game's only goal in the 76th minute.  Freshman Tana Weekes (Baldwin, N.Y.) finished off a pass from senior Andrew Puca (Naples, Italy) to give the Panthers a 1-0 advantage.

The Knights didn't suffer from a lack of chances, as Old Westbury junior Pablo Diaz (Holtsville, N.Y.) was forced to make eight saves to preserve the shutout.  Mount Saint Mary sophomore Matt Darling (Staatsburg, N.Y.) finished with five saves in defeat.

Mount Saint Mary held a 23-16 advantage in shots, led by a game-high seven attempts from sophomore Sean Lockwood (Manahawkin, N.J.).

The Knights head to Sage for their next scheduled contest.  The game is set for 4:00 p.m. at the Bethlehem SoccerPlex in Glenmont, New York.
