RIVERDALE, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College women's soccer team won their fourth consecutive game on Wednesday evening, rolling past the College of Mount Saint Vincent, 4-0, in a Skyline Conference contest in Riverdale. The Knights improved to 6-5 overall and to 3-1 in the Skyline.
Freshman
Brigit Burgio (Riverhead, N.Y.) opened the scoring for the Knights in the 5th minute, putting home a centering pass from freshman
Allie Kleine (Vernon, N.J.). The game remained a one-goal affair to the end of the first half.
An own goal by Mount Saint Vincent in the 47th minute sent the Mount to a 2-0 advantage and insurance goals in the final six minutes made the final score, 4-0. Kleine scored on a feed from Burgio in the 85th minute, and sophomore
Kelly Candelet (Mystic, Conn.) added a final tally in the 89th minute following a cross from junior
Colleen Cappadora (Brooklyn, N.Y.).
Senior
Megan Cotta (Brick, N.J.) made two saves for the shutout, her third of the season.
Up next for the Mount is a road trip to Farmingdale State College. The Knights will take on the Rams in a 12:00 p.m. start on Saturday, October 2.
