HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. - The Mount Saint Mary College men's soccer team dropped a non-conference decision to Centenary College by the score of 2-0.  The Knights fell to 0-6, while the Cyclones improved to 1-4.

The Cyclones stormed to an early lead behind two quick goals from junior forward Andrew Pinella (Brielle, N.J.) and never looked back.  Pinella scored in the fourth minute after a punt from junior goalkeeper Jason Rogers (Washington, N.J.) bounded over the last Knight defender.  After being denied once by Knight goalkeeper Matthew Darling (Staatsburg, N.Y.), Pinella finished his own rebound in the ninth minute to double the lead.

After falling behind 2-0, the Knights regrouped and went on the offensive. In the twenty-third minute, junior midfielder Mike Del Rosso (Washingtonville, N.Y.) rattled a shot off the crossbar.  Senior midfielder Matt Glaviano pushed a great opportunity just wide in the forty-ninth minute.  Centenary goalie Rogers stymied the rest of the Mount's chances, amassing 9 saves en route to a shutout.

Mount Saint Mary was led by a pair of freshman. Midfielder Brandon Mincher (Bayport, N.Y.) tallied 5 shots while goalkeeper Darling recorded 8 saves.

The Knights play at home versus Old Westbury in their conference opener on Saturday at noon.
