OLD WESTBURY, NY – The Mount Saint Mary College men's soccer team allowed two first half goals just fifty seconds apart and went on to lose, 2-0, to Skyline Conference foe, SUNY College at Old Westbury. The Blue Knights fell back to even on the season at 3-3-1 while the Panthers bumped to 6-4.
Old Westbury freshman Brian Orozco (North Babylon, N.Y.) netted the first goal at 34:56 with an assist from freshman Mathias Coni (Oceanside, N.Y.). Just fifty seconds late at 35:46, junior Andrew Holder (Bellport, N.Y.) took a feed from senior Fabian Sanibanez (Oyster Bay, N.Y.) to make it 2-0.
The Blue Knights were outshot 19-8 and Old Westbury junior Darian Bryan (Elmont, N.Y.) made six saves to earn the victory for the Panthers. Sophomore
Francesco Marando (Slate Hill, N.Y.) led the Blue Knights with three shots while senior
Tomasz Michalak (Newington, Conn.) took two shots.
Mount Saint Mary will travel to Mitchell College on Tuesday for a non-conference match up with the Pequots. The game is scheduled for a 4:30 p.m. start in New London, Connecticut.
