PATCHOGUE, NY – Mount Saint Mary College junior
Meredith Paggi (Wappingers Falls, N.Y.) led the Blue Knights with 15 points as the women's basketball team won its fifteenth game in a row with a 72-50 defeat of St. Joseph's College. The Mount improved their record to 19-4 overall and stayed perfect in the Skyline Conference at 16-0, while St. Joseph's College dropped to 7-16 and 7-9 in Skyline play.

Chrissy Zrowka (Brick, N.J.) buried a triple at the 7:11 mark of the first half to give the Blue Knights the lead. Twenty eight seconds later, junior
Shannon Sangster (Syracuse, N.Y.) followed with a layup to give the visitors a five point edge, 23-18. St. Joseph's scored four unanswered points to cut the Mount lead to just one, but the Blue Knights closed the opening half with eight out of the last nine points and led 31-23 at the intermission.
The Golden Eagles came out of the gates with the first five points of the second half, using a bucket from junior Dana Carney (Patchogue, N.Y.) and a three-pointer from junior Katie Hennes (Lake Grove, N.Y.) to cut the Mount's lead to just three (31-28). The Blue Knights answered with a 12-1 run to give them a fourteen point advantage with just over fourteen minutes to go in the game. St. Joseph's would get no closer than twelve for the rest of the way and the Blue Knights went away with a 72-50 victory.
Paggi shot 5-for-11 from the field and 5-for-8 from the free throw line for her 15 points. Zrowka chipped in with 13 points on 3-for-5 from the field and a perfect 6-for-6 from the line. Sangster registered her fifth double-double of the season, totaling 12 points and 10 rebounds. Junior
Jess Tice (Altamont, N.Y.) closed out the game with 10 points and 3 blocked shots.
Junior Corissa Stack (Patchogue, N.Y.) led all scorers with 16 points. Carney chipped in with 9 points. Junior Trish McMahon (Patchogue, N.Y.) finished the contest with 8 points.
In the last game of a five-game road trip, the Blue Knights will take on Yeshiva University at Baruch College on Wednesday, February 18. Game time is set for 8:00 p.m.
