PATCHOGUE, NY – Despite outshooting St. Joseph's College by a margin of 13-7, the Mount Saint Mary College men's soccer team lost to the Golden Eagles in Thursday's Skyline Conference semifinal, 2-0. The Blue Knights finish their season at 10-9 overall. St. Joseph's (10-8-2) advances to play Farmingdale in Saturday's championship game.

The second-seeded Golden Eagles didn't waste any time in getting on the scoreboard as sophomore Stephan Zaech (Farmingville, N.Y.) scored just 1:47 into the game. Freshman Scott Reduto (St. James, N.Y.) assisted on the play to give St. Joseph's a 1-0 lead.

The score would remain the same until the 63rd minute when Reduto put home an unassisted insurance goal.

Junior goalkeeper Mike Dougherty (Farmingville, N.Y.) made seven saves to preserve the shutout for St. Joseph's. Mount Saint Mary junior Paul Aries (Nashua, N.H.) made two saves for the Blue Knights.
