PATCHOGUE, NY – Despite outshooting St. Joseph's College by a margin of 13-7, the Mount Saint Mary College men's soccer team lost to the Golden Eagles in Thursday's Skyline Conference semifinal, 2-0. The Blue Knights finish their season at 10-9 overall. St. Joseph's (10-8-2) advances to play Farmingdale in Saturday's championship game.
The second-seeded Golden Eagles didn't waste any time in getting on the scoreboard as sophomore Stephan Zaech (Farmingville, N.Y.) scored just 1:47 into the game. Freshman Scott Reduto (St. James, N.Y.) assisted on the play to give St. Joseph's a 1-0 lead.
The score would remain the same until the 63rd minute when Reduto put home an unassisted insurance goal.
