Freshman Carlos Valdez averaged 18.3 points and 12.0 rebounds during three games for Mount Saint Mary College. On Tuesday, Valdez scored 20 points and pulled down 16 boards during a one-point loss to Maritime College. The freshman then scored a career-high 26 points against Mount Saint Vincent on Saturday. He also had 13 rebounds against the Dolphins. For his efforts, Carlos was named the Skyline Conference Rookie of the Week.
