Head coach Frank Martini enters his eighth season with the Mount Saint Mary College women's soccer program in 2013. The Knights have improved on a consistent basis under Martini and recorded the best record in program history (18-4-1) during the 2011 campaign. In six seasons with the program, Martini now owns an overall record of 84-50-7.
In 2012, Mount Saint Mary nearly matched the record-setting season from the year before. The Knights went 17-4-1 overall and won the regular season Skyline crown for the second year in a row with a perfect record of 8-0-0. Once again, however, the Mount was derailed in the tournament championship game by Farmingdale State College.
During 2011, the Knights captured the regular season Skyline crown with an unblemished conference record of 8-0-0 and while not conceding a single goal (outscored Skyline opponents, 22-0). Mount Saint Mary edged St. Joseph's College in the tournament semifinals (1-0), but fell to second-seeded Farmingdale State College in the championship game (1-0). Still, the program set new school records for wins (18), winning percentage (.841), shutouts (14), and longest winning streak (12 games).
With a regular season Skyline Conference mark of 6-4, Mount Saint Mary finished in fifth place in 2010. But in the conference tournament, the Mount would heat up, upsetting fourth-seeded Old Westbury and top-seeded St. Joseph's College to make their first-ever appearance in the title game. Martini's Knights lost to second-seeded Farmingdale in the championship game to close out another excellent season.
In 2009, Martini guided the Knights to a Skyline record of 5-2-2, the best mark in program history up to that point. As the fourth seed in the conference tournament, the Knights hosted their first-ever playoff game. The team also appeared in the ECAC Metro Region Tournament for the first time in program history. The sixth-seeded Knights fell to third-seeded New Jersey City in the opening round.
The 2008 campaign saw the Knights post the best record for the program since 1997. Mount Saint Mary posted an impressive mark of 11-6-1 that featured a record of 5-3-1 against the members of the Skyline Conference. The Knights qualified for the Skyline tournament for the second year in a row and posted their first ever tournament victory, defeating Sage 1-0 in the quarterfinals.
Continuing to improve on their goal differential, the Knights outscored their opponents 57-14 during the 2008 campaign, a margin of plus-43. Mount Saint Mary posted a plus-27 in 2007, a drastic improvement from their negative-29 differential during 2006.
One year removed from a 6-11 campaign in 2006 that was the best record for the program since 2002, the Knights responded with an 11-6-2 mark in 2007, setting the best mark for the program in more than a decade. In conference play, Mount Saint Mary was 3-4-1 in 2007 and competed in the year-end conference tournament for the first time in program history.
