Isabelle Herrera joins the Mount Saint Mary College women's basketball coaching staff for the 2026-27 season after playing collegiately at the University of Chicago.

A native of Poughkeepsie, N.Y., Herrera graduated from Spackenkill High School in 2019, where she was a standout member of the girls basketball program. She helped lead the team to its second Section IX Class B Championship in program history and became just the fifth girl in program history to score more than 1,000 career points. Herrera also competed in volleyball at Spackenkill.

Herrera continued her playing career at the University of Chicago, graduating in 2023 with a degree in psychology and a minor in neuroscience. During her senior season, the Maroons advanced to the NCAA Division III Sweet 16 for just the second time in program history and hosted the first and second rounds of the NCAA Tournament.

Following her collegiate playing career, Herrera continued her education by earning a graduate certificate in Sport and Performance Psychology from Dominican University of California.

Herrera began her coaching career during the 2025-26 season as an assistant coach with the Spackenkill varsity girls basketball program. She also spent the spring and summer of 2026 as an assistant coach with the Hudson Valley Knights AAU program.

A former standout player in the Hudson Valley, Herrera brings playing experience at both the high school and collegiate levels, along with a background in psychology and sport and performance psychology, to the Mount Saint Mary coaching staff.
