Mount Saint Mary College Athletics

Assistant coach Phil Russo enters his fifthseason on the sideline with the Mount Saint Mary men's soccer team and his seventh season overall with the program.  Russo played for the Blue Knights during the 2002 and 2003 seasons.

As a member of the Blue Knights, Russo tallied 20 career points (nine goals, two assists) and served as a team captain during the 2003 campaign.  Russo received the MSMC Game of the Year award after scoring three goals during a 3-2 overtime win against Manhattanville College on October 30, 2002.

Prior to the enrolling at the Mount, Russo attended Orange County Community College where he played soccer for two years.  He was a member of the OCCC team that finished the season ranked 13th in the nation amongst junior colleges in 1998.

Russo graduated from MSMC in January of 2005 with a B.S. in history and psychology.

He is a lifelong native of Newburgh, New York.
