Doug Stahl

Head coach Doug Stahl enters his eleventh year with the Mount Saint Mary College men’s soccer program as they open play in 2010.  During his time at Mount Saint Mary, Stahl has guided the Knights to an overall record of 72-105-6.  His 72 coaching wins are the most for any coach in program history.

In 2008, the Knights had one of their most successful seasons under Stahl.  The team finished the season at 10-10-0 overall, matching the most wins for the program since 1993 (also done in 2006).  Their Skyline Conference record of 7-2-0 is the best on the books and their fourth place finish in the standings allowed them to host their first ever Skyline Conference tournament game.  Hosting Maritime College on November 4, the Knights defeated the Privateers (2-0) for their first ever playoff victory.  Also during the 2008 campaign, Mount Saint Mary qualified for the ECAC Metro Region Tournament for the first time in program history.  The seventh seeded Knights dropped an opening round game to New Jersey City University.

Capping off the year in 2008, Stahl was honored as the Skyline Conference Coach of the Year for the first time during his tenure.

From 1998 to 2000 and prior to taking over the head coaching position at Mount Saint Mary, Stahl worked as an assistant coach at Manchester College in Indiana.  He also coached at Northrop High School (Indiana) from 1988 through 1993.  Stahl earned his premier coaching license from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America in January of 2003.

Stahl graduated from Manchester College in 1996 with a B.S. in elementary education.  While at Manchester, Stahl was a four-year varsity soccer player.  He was named a team captain as a junior and was selected first-team all-conference in the Indiana Collegiate Athletic Conference as a senior.

A two-time and current member of the NCAA East Regional Ranking Committee, Stahl has also served on the NSCAA Regional Ranking Committee.

Concurrently with his time at the Mount, Stahl serves as the Director of Coaching for the Orange County Soccer Club.

Stahl lives in Walden, New York, with his wife, Jody, and his three daughters: Ava, Sophia, and Hannah.
