Ian Farley was selected as the third Head Men's Lacrosse Coach in program history on August 1, 2022 and will be at the helm of the program for his first season in the spring of 2023.

“Ian brings a wealth of experience at multiple levels and an incredible passion for coaching collegiate men’s lacrosse. I’m excited for Ian to get started and looking forward to seeing him take our program to new heights,” said Athletic Director Drew Brown on Farley’s selection.

Farley comes to the Mount after serving on the coaching staff at Division III Colby College during the 2021-22 academic year. While with the Mules, Farley was responsible for player development, focusing on offense, and was actively involved in recruiting. Farley also assisted with scouting and game plan development in his role at Colby.

"I want to thank Drew Brown and everyone involved in the hiring committee from current players to other coaches in the department for the opportunity. I am very excited to join the Mount Saint Mary College community and be a part of a campus that dedicates themselves on being selfless and making a positive impact on those around them. I cannot wait to build relationships with the members of the team and get to work to continue the success of the program and strive to reach new achievements on and off the field,” stated Farley.

Prior to his stint in Waterville, Farley served as an assistant coach and Offensive Coordinator at the College of the Holy Cross from August 2018-May of 2021. In addition to his on-field responsibilities of player development and scouting, Farley was also involved in recruiting along with practice and game film breakdown. During his time in Worcester, Farley helped mentor an All-Patriot League selection as well as two Major League Lacrosse draft picks.

While with the Crusaders, Farley also coordinated travel to road games, managed equipment inventory and oversaw academic progress.

Farley also brings coaching experience at Vassar, John Carroll, Marist and Sacred Heart with him to Newburgh. He was part of a staff that was honored as the OAC Coaching Staff of the Year in 2016 and while a graduate assistant at Marist in 2017, worked with the face-off unit that won 53-percent of its draws, and helped lead the Red Foxes to the MAAC Championship game. While at Sacred Heart, Farley managed the scout offense at practice, worked with the face-off unit and oversaw the program’s community service efforts.

Farley played collegiately at Sacred Heart and served as a team captain during the 2014-15 season, serving on the Pioneers Student-Athlete Advisory Committee the same year. He earned his Bachelors Degree from the John F. Welch College of Business at Sacred Heart in 2015.
