Alex Danon begins his third season on the Mount Saint Mary College men’s lacrosse coaching staff heading into the 2014-2015 academic year.
 
In his first two seasons, Danon coached the defense and worked extensively with the goalies. Danon will continue coaching the goalies and defense while also assisting with recruiting, practice and game planning, and fundraising. In his first two seasons, Danon helped lead the Knights to a 13-17 record.
 
Before coming to Mount Saint Mary, Danon coached at Valley Central High School in nearby Montgomery, N.Y. for six years. As the assistant there, Danon served as the offensive coordinator and goalie coach. During his tenure the Vikings compiled a record of 84-31 and won one section championship. Danon coached 3 U.S. Lacrosse All-Americans, and was twice selected as U.S. Lacrosse Assistant Coach of The Year.
 
In addition to his duties at Mount Saint Mary, Danon is a Licensed Real Estate Salesperson. He is also the co-owner of Hudson Valley Lacrosse Development Program Inc.
 
Danon graduated from Lasell College in the spring of 2006 with a bachelor’s degree in legal studies.  As a member of the men's lacrosse team, Danon played goalie and defense for the Lasers.  He went on to earn a master’s degree in school counseling from Long Island University.
 
Danon currently lives in Wallkill, N.Y. with his wife Gina, who coaches the Mount Saint Mary women’s tennis team and is a member of the inaugural Mount Saint Mary College Athletics Hall of Fame class.
