Steve Phillips joins the men's basketball coaching staff as an assistant coach for the 2014-15 season. He also joined the men's tennis team as an assistant coach in 2015. Phillips concluded his fourth and final season as a guard for the Knights in 2013-14.
Phillips will assist head coach Ryan Kadlubowski with recruiting, on-court coaching and player development after trading in his uniform for a suit on the Knights' bench. Phillips' four years as a Knight were the winningest of any four-year period in the program's history, as the team went 82-32, and by far the winningest against the Skyline Conference, as the Knights went 60-14 across those four seasons.
Phillips will assist new men's tennis head coach Eric Sturgis with on-court instruction and recruiting.
Phillips is a native of New Hyde Park, N.Y., and is continuing to work on obtaining his degree in history and education.
