Stephen Cabarcas joins the Mount Saint Mary College baseball coaching staff as an assistant coach for the 2015 season.
A former player for the Mount Saint Mary baseball team, Cabarcas returns to the college after serving as the assistant head coach and recruiting coordinator at SUNY Orange for the past six seasons.
Cabarcas enjoyed a successful collegiate career, in which he posted a career batting average of .330 and was selected twice to two different All-Conference teams. A transfer from SUNY Orange (04-05), he was selected as a Mid-Hudson Conference All-Team selection, as well as, a Region IX All-Team selection during his sophomore campaign with the Colts. In his two years as a Knight (06-07), Cabarcas posted an career average of .325 and led the team in hits his senior year. As a senior, Cabarcas was selected to the All-Skyline Second Team.
Cabarcas graduated from Mount Saint Mary College in 2008 with a Bachelor’s Degree in history while acquiring his teaching certification in childhood education 1-6. Cabarcas received his Master’s Degree in instructional technology in education and is currently the Educational Technology Specialist at Mahopac High School in Mahopac, N.Y.
