Matt Kaldon returns to the Mount Saint Mary College baseball coaching staff in 2020. Kaldon was previously an assistant coach with the Knights during the 2015 season.
Before coming to the Mount in 2015, Kaldon signed a professional baseball contract in 2014 with the Taos Blizzard of the Pecos League of Professional Baseball Clubs in Taos, N.M. He played two seasons before returning to the east coast.
Kaldon transferred to SUNY New Paltz in 2011 from St. Thomas Aquinas College. He played three seasons for the Hawks and helped lead New Paltz to the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Baseball Tournament twice. In 2013, he helped the team achieve the second seed in the conference tournament, hitting .279 with four doubles, one triple and 13 RBI while being the everyday backstop for the Hawks.
Kaldon received his undergraduate degree in park relations from New Paltz in 2013 and later received his master's degree in sports management from Manhattanville in 2016. Kaldon graduated from local high school Valley Central in 2009.
