AUBURNDALE, Fla. – The Mount Saint Mary College baseball team fell to Moravian University in its second match of the RussMatt Invitational.

Mount Saint Mary looked to turn things around after their loss to Anderson the day prior, with
Michael Pisseri getting the start for the Knights. The Mount's defense would make a couple of splash plays, including a double play and a great pick from
Christian Parisa at shortstop. The Knights were unable to get their bats going early on, which would prove costly as Moravian would score 5 runs before Mount Saint Mary would even get a hit.
Stephen Volk would finally get a knock for the Knights with a single to center field in the bottom of the 5th.
Richard Lamping would follow that up with a double, and
Reese Kelly scored Volk with a sac fly. After a
Nico Simou double,
Axel Martinez would score Lamping as both Simou and Martinez got their first collegiate starts. Moravian added 6 runs on just 3 hits in the top of the 6th and 2 more runs in the 7th to take a commanding 13-2 lead.
Nico Simou and
Christian Parisa would hit RBI singles as part of a 4-run inning for the Mount as they looked to create a comeback. In the bottom of the 9th,
Kaleb Morgan would blast a 2-run homer in back-to-back games, but the Knights would fall short 16-9.
