Mount Saint Mary College was still looking for its first win as they traveled up the Hudson to play Bard College.
Peyton Curley got the Knights started off hot with a save on the opening possession, followed by two forced turnovers from the defense.
Kasey Senior converted a free-position goal, as she was one of multiple players with career-best days. Senior finished the game with a career-high 5 goals, 3 assists, and 7 ground balls.
Delisianna Naccarato would add to the Knights' lead as they went up 2-0 after the first quarter.
The Mount exploded for 7 goals in the second quarter, with
Kasey Senior and
Kaitlin Hansen both putting up multiple goals. The Knights' defense held the Raptors scoreless in the first half, forcing 14 turnovers. Freshman
Danica Valente led the team with a game-high 6 caused turnovers. Mount Saint Mary held a commanding 9-0 lead heading into the half.
Antonia Licardi scored to put the Knights in double digits, as part of her career-high 4-goal game. Bard would finally get on the board in the 3rd quarter, but Mount Saint Mary responded not long thereafter.
The Knights had yet another big scoring quarter, putting up 6 goals in the fourth.
Shannon McGowan would score her 100th career goal at the 6:20 mark, becoming just the 5th player in Mount Saint Mary College program history to accomplish that feat. The Knights would end up defeating Bard College 17-1, as Mount Saint Mary earned its first win of the season.
