MAHWAH, N.J. – The Mount Saint Mary College softball team was defeated in both of its games in a doubleheader at Ramapo College.
Game 1

Mount Saint Mary had a tough match-up in front of them with Ramapo College, who was 10-3 coming into today. Knights ace
Grace MacDonald would get the ball in the first game, getting the first two runners out, but struggled to get out of the inning. Ramapo was able to take a 3-0 lead after the first inning on just two hits. MacDonald would settle down, allowing just two hits and zero runs for the remainder of the game. Down early, the Knights were going to have to get their bats going. Walks from
Grace Reich and
Dana Donnelly with two out in the top of the third gave the Mount some hope of getting on the board, but they would be left stranded.
The Mount got into a rhythm in the top of the 5th thanks to a leadoff double from
Samantha Stallone, followed by singles from both
Autumn Strobach and
Angela Christopher. The Knights had bases loaded and no outs in the inning, but were still not able to come away with any runs.
Grace MacDonald and
Samantha Stallone singled in the top of the 6th, as they were the only players to record multiple hits. Mount Saint Mary would leave another two base runners on, and go 1-2-3 in the 7th as they dropped game one to the Roadrunners 3-0.

The Knights looked to come away with a win in game two after a competitive loss in the first game. Hits were hard to come by in this one, as the Mount recorded just a single hit in game two. Ramapo got things going early in the bottom of the 1st to take a 2-0 lead. Mount Saint Mary was able to draw three walks in the game, but with cold bats, they were unable to drive in any runs.
Autumn Strobach recorded the only hit for the Knights in the top of the 5th with a single to left field. With two outs in the bottom half of the inning, Ramapo was able to tack on another two runs to make it 4-0. The Roadrunners added an insurance run in the 6th inning, as they would defeat Mount Saint Mary 5-0.
