Rapid Recap
Mount Saint Mary traveled down to Marion, North Carolina, to take on Johnson & Wales University as part of a 3-game series. After the Knights' double header with Valley Forge was canceled due to weather, these would be their first games of the season. The Mount would get off to a hot start offensively with 4 runs in the first inning, with Aidan Marshall recording an RBI single. The bats were rolling for both teams as Johnson & Wales would score 3 runs of their own. Marshall and Christian Parisa notched 2-RBI hits, followed by an RBI single from Stephen Volk to put the Knights up 9-3. A 5-run inning from the Wildcats in the bottom of the 3rd cut their deficit to just one. Dominick Cusumano would come in out of the bullpen and leave 2 runners stranded to get the Mount out of a jam.

Richard Lamping would hit a solo home run to lead off the 4th inning as the Knights now led 10-8. Johnson & Wales would put up another 5 runs in the bottom half of the inning to give them their first lead of the game, 13-10. Mount Saint Mary exploded for 8 runs next inning, with RBI hits from Daniel Mack, Justin Stella, and Aidan Marshall. This lead would be short-lived, as the Wildcats responded with 6 runs off of only 2 hits to put them back up 19-18. A 2-RBI bomb from Daniel Mack put the Mount right back on top as they scored 3 runs this inning. 7 runs from Johnson & Wales, including a grand slam, gave them a 26-21 lead, and the Knights were unable to get anything going in the bottom of the 7th, handing them their first loss of the season in a crazy 47-run game.

Rapid Recap
The Knights looked to rebound after giving up 26 runs in their first game of the day. They would go 1-2-3 to start the game on offense, then Michael Pisseri would get himself out of a jam after walking the first two batters in the bottom of the 1st. The Mount would load the bases in the next inning, but were unable to take advantage, leaving all runners stranded. Noah Anderson would single in the top of the 3rd, allowing him to score later in the inning off an error and giving the Knights a 1-0 lead.

Johnson & Wales would tie things up in the bottom of the 4th after a solo homer gave them their first run of the game. A Noah Anderson single in the top of the 5th advanced Christian Parisa to third base, who would then score off a balk. Kaleb Morgan would then single to center field, scoring Anderson and giving the Mount a 3-1 lead. Kyle Fives would come in to relieve Pisseri in the bottom of the 5th, as he looked to protect Mount Saint Mary's 3-2 lead. Fives would get out of the inning with bases loaded, and the Knights would add 3 more runs in the bottom half of the 6th. Philip Giancaspro would steal home, and the Mount would take advantage of a couple of Wildcats mistakes. Elijah Duprey added an insurance run in the top of the 7th with a sacrifice fly, and Fives would complete his 2.1 scoreless innings with 0 hits and 5 strikeouts to give Mount Saint Mary a 7-2 win.
