Mount Saint Mary took a 1-0 lead in the 1st when Chris Calvario led off the game with a double off of his brother and Stephen Volk grounded out to score him. Union answered in the 2nd off tying it at 1-1 on a wild pitch. Union took a 2-1 lead in the 3rd with an RBI single after a walk and stolen base. Mount Saint Mary loaded the bases in the 3rd but couldn't score, leaving three runners stranded.
Union extended their lead to 3-1 in the 6th capitalizing on a throwing error that allowed a run to score after a walk. Mount Saint Mary's offense stalled managing just one hit from the 4th to 7th innings. In the 8th, the Knights drew two walks but nothing came of it. Union added an insurance run in the 9th with an RBI single scoring making it 4-1. Mount Saint Mary couldn't rally in the 9th as Alex Nalewajk reached on an error but three strikeouts ended the game.
