Rapid Recap
Mount Saint Mary started this game off hot, scoring not one, but two goals down a player to start the game. Both goals were scored by Shannon McGowan and assisted by Victoria Maffettone as the Knights led 2-0. The Mount continued to barrage the Old Westbury defense as Karlie Ferrucci scored her first of a career-high 8 goals to extend their lead. Defensively, the Knights smothered the Panthers any time they touched the ball. Old Westbury only succeeded on 3 of their 18 clearance attempts, as Mount Saint Mary forced 21 turnovers. The Knights would lead 10-0 after the first quarter, with Kasey Senior and Delisianna Naccarato making their way onto the scoreboard. They continued their high pace of play, even when they were down a player. Alejandra De Leon converted her free position shot in a woman-down scenario to put the Knights up 12-0. The Mount would tack on 3 more goals to lead 15-0 at the half.

Julia McGrinder would get in on the action outside of her draw control and defensive roles, scoring early on in the third quarter. It was an easy day at the office for Liz Petrellese, who stopped all 3 shots on goal from Old Westbury. Kasey Senior notched her second-career hat trick for the Mount as they went up 18-0 with one quarter remaining. Victoria Maffettone had a great all-around game, scoring a goal, dishing out two assists, forcing 5 turnovers, and picking up 5 ground balls. The Knights checked all the boxes this game, including shutting out Old Westbury. Mount Saint Mary would ultimately defeat the Panthers 21-0, securing Liz Petrellese's 24th career win, which is the new program record.
