Rapid Recap
(Game 1)

Mount Saint Mary played their first game of the season against Albertus Magnus in White Haven, Florida as part of a week-long spring break tournament. This game started off as a pitcher's duel, as Grace MacDonald only allowed 1 walk through the first two innings. The first hit of the game would come from the Falcons in the top of the 3rd, but Ariana Corrente had a rocket of an arm in right field to throw the runner out at third.

In the bottom half of the 4th, Chloe Graham would get a lead-off walk and steal second base to get in scoring position. With two outs, Madison White singled to drive Graham in and record both her first career hit and RBI to break the scoreless tie. Albertus Magnus finally started to get going in the top of the 6th as an error from the Knights gave the Falcons first and second with no outs. A sacrifice bunt followed by a single gave the Falcons a 2-1 lead. They would tack on an insurance run in the top of the 7th to make it 3-1. Mount Saint Mary could not get their bats going in this one as they would finish the game with only 1 hit as Albertus Magnus came away with the 3-1 win.

Notes and Numbers
(Game 2)
Mount Saint Mary looked to get more active on offense in their second game of the day, this time against Carroll University. The Knights would go 1-2-3 to in the top of the 1st and Peyton Dost would get her first career start of the rubber for the Mount. The Pioneers got off to a hot start, scoring three runs to go up 3-0. Dost shook off her nerves and retired the side with bases loaded. She would quickly retire the side in the next two innings not allowing single runner to reach base. Grace Reich would notch her first career hit in the top of the 4th as the Knights were finally able to reach first base.

Madison White raked a lead-off double to start the 5th inning as she has had quite the start to her career at the Mount. After a walk, the Knights would load the bases thanks to a dropped ball in right field. Autumn Strobach would single, squeezing the ball in between third base and shortstop to record her first career hit and RBI and also cut their deficit to just two. Back-to-back strikeouts would end the innings as the Knights left the bases loaded. Carroll would add another run with an RBI double to go up 4-1. A lead-off walk for Chloe Graham followed by a single from Madison White put runners on first and second with an opportunity to score. The Pioneer's pitching stepped up when needed the most and retired the side, squashing the Knight's momentum. The Pioneers scored off a single in the bottom of the 6th with two outs, but Grace Reich would hose a runner from center field trying to score to end the inning. Mount Saint Mary was unable to get any sort of rally going in the 7th as they lost to Carroll University 5-1.
