LEESBURG, Fla. – The Mount Saint Mary College softball team came up just short of a comeback against Regis College.

Regis would get on the board in the top of the 1st 1-0 as
Peyton Dost was able to get out of a bases-loaded jam to avoid any more damage.
Grace Reich would lead off for the Knights with a walk in the bottom half of the inning and steal second base to get in scoring position.
Grace MacDonald singled to right field to score Reich and get 1 of her 2 RBIs on the day. The Pride continued to swing the bat well in the top of the 2nd, scoring 2 more runs and leading 3-1. The Knights would go 1-2-3 in the 2nd but woke up in the 3rd.
A couple of errors from Regis gave Mount Saint Mary the opportunity to score some runs.
Autumn Strobach, who went a perfect 3 for 3 on the afternoon, scored on an error and
Grace MacDonald drove in a run with a single up the middle. Both teams stayed quiet on offense until the 7th inning where Regis would knock in 2 runs thanks to a triple and a wild pitch. The Knights would have to get their rally caps on if they were to get their first win of the season down 5-3 entering the final inning.
Autumn Strobach led off with a single and
Grace Reich drew a walk to get runners on first and second with just 1 out.
Grace Terpening would reach first on a fielder's choice, scoring Reich and bringing the Mount to within one run. Mount Saint Mary would fall just short as Regis College would come away with a 5-4 win.
