Rapid Recap
Mount Saint Mary had a successful season, securing a Skyline title in dramatic fashion with an overtime win at Merchant Marine. The Knights faced by far their biggest challenge in the #3 ranked University of Scranton in the First Round of the NCAA Tournament. Scranton jumped out to a very early 14-0 lead as the Mount struggled to match the Royals play. Brianna Guglielmo would get a put-back layup to finally get the Knights on the board. Scranton took control of the wheel from the jump and never looked back as they held a 26-6 lead after the first quarter. The task at hand was no easy one for Mount Saint Mary, as the Royals have only lost one game this season. The Knights would find themselves down 51-14 at the half.

Kate Hughes would get a good look at a jumper and knock it down to start off the third quarter. Credit to the Royals as they were well-versed in every facet of the game and continued to build their lead. The Knights' leading scorer and rebounder this game was Lauren Petrie who shot 50.0% from the field and grabbed 5 boards. Scranton would defeat Mount Saint Mary by the final score of 93-35. It's not the way Casey Love, Lauren Petrie, Shannon Phelan, Lizzy Lofaro, Kate Hughes, Ciarra Quinn, and Erin Lofaro wanted to end their collegiate careers, but they will forever be ingrained in Knights history as Skyline Conference Champions.
