Rapid Recap

Mount Saint Mary looked to rebound in their second game of the day, and their final match of The Spring Games, against Western New England. Hitting first, the Bears only needed two hits in the top of the 1st to do some damage. The Knights were down 4-0 before they knew it, and had a good chance to respond in the bottom half of the inning. Autumn Strobach, Madison White, and Grace MacDonald all singled to load the bases with 1 out. They were unable to score, as they faced an uphill battle for the remainder of the game. Peyton Dost got out of a bases-loaded jam in the second inning with a routine ground ball. Mount Saint Mary couldn't get the bats going, while the Bears added 3 runs in the 2nd and 2 more in the 3rd to go up 9-0. Samantha Stallone singled to score Chloe Graham in the bottom of the 4th, but the Knights would need more than that if they were to make a comeback. Western New England tallied 3 more runs in the top of the 5th and Mount Saint Mary was unable to beat out the 8-run mercy rule as they fell to the Bears 12-1 in 5 innings.
