(Game 1)
Rapid Recap
Mount Saint Mary College was still looking for their first win of the season coming into this match with the Wildcats. This would be a pitcher's duel coming all the way down to the wire, as although SUNY Poly would record 7 hits, Knights pitcher
Peyton Dost did a great job turning down the Wildcats when they got in scoring position. The Mount didn't get their first hit until the top of the third where
Samantha Stallone and
Grace Reich would get back-to-back singles to put runners on first and second with no outs. An unlucky bounce on a sacrifice bunt allowed SUNY Poly to turn a double play and get out of the inning unharmed.
Things got a little shaky in the bottom of the 4th for the Knights, as with runners on second and third with 2 outs,
Samantha Stallone would make a great play at third base to get them out of the inning. The Wildcats once again had a runner on third with 2 outs in the bottom of the 6th and it was once again
Samantha Stallone making a defensive play to get Mount Saint Mary out of the inning. SUNY Poly would get 3 of their 7 hits on the day in the bottom of the 7th as they came away with a walk-off single to beat the Knights 1-0.

Rapid Recap
The Knights didn't get off to the best start in their second game of the day against Washington College, as the Geese loaded the bases in the top of the 1st. They would knock in 2 runs as the Knights trailed 2-0 heading into the bottom half of the inning.
Grace Reich got a lead-off walk and advanced to second base off a wild pitch.
Grace MacDonald would double to center field to score Reich and get Mount Saint Mary on the board. Washington College continued to find ways to get on base and would score another run in the top of the 3rd.
The Mount could not seem to get their bats going, but the Geese had no trouble with theirs adding yet another run off a sacrifice fly in the top of the 4th.
Grace MacDonald would settle down on the mound, holding Washington to 0 runs for the remainder of the game. In the bottom of the 7th, the Knights put on their rally caps with three straight hits from MacDonald,
Chloe Graham, and
Grace Terpening. Terpening hit a 2 RBI single to put the Mount to within 1 run of tying the game, 4-3. The Knights loaded up the bases after an error then a single from
Allie Kenney, but were unable to take advantage, with a bang-bang play at second base ending the game. Mount Saint Mary was defeated by Washington College 4-3.
