DAVENPORT, Fla. – The Mount Saint Mary College baseball team faltered in their 11-4 loss to St. Joseph's College Maine.

Mount Saint Mary was currently on a 4-game heater heading into their matchup with St. Joseph's College Maine who was 4-0 on the season. The Monks struck first, taking a 1-0 lead after an RBI single in the bottom of the 1st. The Knights went 1-2-3 in the first three innings, while Saint Joe's would go on to score 4 more runs in the bottom half of the 3rd, which started with a 2-run error that started it off.
In the top of the 4th,
Chris Calvario showed off his power, homering to get the Mount on the board, but the Knights would leave the bases loaded in a crucial moment to get some runs. Mount Saint Mary slowly crept back into the game, scoring 2 runs in the next inning to make it 5-3 Monks.
Frank Signorelli singled to score
Daniel Mack and
Aidan Marshall reached first on an error to score Signorelli. Just when the Knights were getting it going, St. Joe's had other plans. The Monks would score 6 runs in the bottom of the 5th, starting with a 3-run homer as they extended their lead to 11-3.
Signorelli would get his second RBI of the game in the top half of the 6th, but the Knights had a big hill to climb. Though the Mount's bullpen would hold it down for the remainder of the game, Mount Saint Mary could not spark a rally to come back as they fell to Saint Joseph's College of Maine 11-4.
