Rapid Recap
Mount Saint Mary looked to respond after dropping their first two games in their season opener with Belhaven University.
Michael Pisseri took the mound for the Knights this afternoon with hopes of a win. The Mount would go 1-2-3 to start off the 1st inning with Belhaven knocking in one run off a double. The Blazers scored 2 more runs in the second inning with the Knights being held to without a hit until the 4th inning.
Frank Signorelli, who has had a solid series to start the season, got Mount Saint Mary in the hit column with a single up the middle. Nothing would come of it though as Signorelli was left stranded. Belhaven notched another 2 runs in the bottom half of the inning along with 3 more runs total in the 5th and 6th to extend their lead to 8-0.
The Mount only reached base on a couple of walks from
Daniel Mack and
Tyler Van De Bogart in the last few innings, but both would not get passed first base.
John Morehead came in relief for the second time this series and in his two brief outings has yet to allow a hit or run. Belhaven would end up winning this one 12-0 to close out the series with a sweep.
