Rapid Recap
Mount Saint Mary looked to get back in the win column as they traveled to Dallas, Pennsylvania, to take on Misericordia University. The Knights would get on the board first after a
Brenden Graham steal and score to start a 9-0 run for the Mount.
JP Egan knocked down a three and a two-point jumper, followed by a couple of free throws from
Justin Rivera to give them their good start. The Cougars quickly flipped the script with a 14-2 run before
Anthony Marzziotti hit a three-pointer to tie things back up. Mount Saint Mary struggled to get good looks for the remainder of the game, shooting just 23.7% from the field after their solid start to the game. The Knights were able to hit shots here and there, but were unable to string together good possessions to cut away at Misericordia's lead.
Coming out of the half, the Mount trailed 43-24, and were going to need a big second half if they were going to come back and win.
Brenden Graham scored a quick two to start the second period of play, though this was only one of two made baskets in the first 11 minutes of play to begin the half. Their deficit quickly began to build as they were too reliant on getting to the line for points. The Cougars led 73-41 with just under 6 minutes left to play. The Knights only made 6 of their 32 attempts from the field in the second half as they were just able to crack the 45-point mark. Misericordia would come away with an 80-45 win over Mount Saint Mary.
