Rapid Recap
Mount Saint Mary looked to stay undefeated in Skyline play against Old Westbury this evening and build upon a win streak. The Knights would open up the game with 3 offensive rebounds on the first possession, but were unable to take advantage. The Knights were able to get the scoring going with an 11-0 run started by Keira Frias. The Mount completely dominated the first quarter on both ends of the court, as the game's leading scorer, Brianna Guglielmo, scored 9 of her 13 points in this game, to give them a 26-2 lead after 10 minutes of play.

Freshman guard Jenny Lopez was a huge factor off the bench for the Knights this game, scoring a season-high 11 points and grabbing 11 rebounds for her first career double-double. Not only did every player get in the game for the Mount, but everyone would also score as well. Lopez shot an efficient 3-5 from downtown to lead both teams in this category. Gabby Ziegenbalg knocked down 2 three pointers late in the half as she extended their lead to 41-8.

Freshman point guard Reese Mayer, who has started every game so far this season, had a great day at the office, scoring 8 points on perfect shooting from the field and added a game-high 5 assists. The Knights once again controlled the game throughout the third quarter, shooting 9-17 from the field and outscoring the Panthers 20-9. Ysella Kosic would take advantage of a steal from Jaelynn Walker to give Mount Saint Mary a 61-17 lead at the end of the third.

The Knights seemed to take their foot off the gas to start the fourth quarter, but a quick timeout got them settled in. They did not have their best performance offensively this quarter, but still managed to hold Old Westbury to single-digit scoring. Mount Saint Mary would come away with its third straight win as they improved to 3-0 in Skyline Conference play with a 72-26 victory over Old Westbury.
