NEWBURGH, N.Y. – The Mount Saint Mary College women's volleyball team celebrated Senior Day with a big win over Old Westbury.

Aubriana Boyce. It was just fitting that the first kill from the Knights was a senior-to-senior connection as Seymour found DiScala for the kill. The Mount got out to an early lead, but the Panthers stuck right in it. Eventually, the Knights, fueled by
Jonaiya Williams, would score 8 straight points to take an 18-11 lead. Old Westbury came rallying back to cut their deficit to just 3 points late in the set as Mount Saint Mary led 23-20.
Aubriana Boyce would set Williams up to settle the team down, as the Knights would win the first set 25-20.
The Panthers jumped out to an early 4-0 lead, but the Mount responded with a 5-0 run of their own to take the lead. This set went back and forth until about midway through, when the Knights' seniors really stepped up and would score 11 of the final 12 points in the set to win 25-17.
Erin Lema showed off her elite service game, helping the Mount to score 7 straight off her serves, and even topped the set off with an ace of her own.
The Knights could just feel the sweep coming, as they continued to play strongly into the third set, taking a 9-4 lead to open it up. Old Westbury came back to within just one point on multiple occasions, but Mount Saint Mary did everything to keep its lead.
Brooke Lavelle and
Mackenzie Warmoth dominated in the middle for the Knights, especially this set, as Lavelle led the way with 4 blocks and Warmoth was not far behind with 3 of her own. Although the set came down to the wire, Mount Saint Mary did not waver and won the set 25-22 and the match 3-0.
